Stainless Steel Ball 201 is a type of ball made from stainless steel
201 Stainless Steel Ball
201 stainless steel balls are precision-engineered spherical components made from AISI 201 (also known as SUS 201), a low-nickel austenitic stainless steel grade. This material is popular for its cost-effectiveness compared to higher-nickel grades like 304 or 316, while still offering good mechanical properties. These balls are widely used in hardware, industrial, and consumer applications where moderate corrosion resistance is sufficient
Begin with premium-grade AISI 201 wire. The wire is cut to precise lengths and forged into rough 201 stainless steel spheres between two hemispherical dies under immense pressure. heavy-duty cold-heading machinery ensures continuous, high-volume production without compromising the structural density of the martensitic steel.
Screening
Screening, the balls after the hard grinding is initially screened through the screening machine, and the unqualified ball will be eliminated.
Polish Stainless Steel Balls
The precision-ground 201 stainless balls are tumbled in specialized lapping barrels loaded with proprietary polishing media and compounds. Our advanced polishing manufacture techniques yield an exceptionally bright, mirror-like finish.
Precision Grinding
The spheres undergo high-pressure grinding using abrasive ceramic wheels. This phase strictly controls the dimensional tolerances of the manufactured components.Even for cost-effective materials like 201, precision matters. As a dedicated manufacturer, we grind these balls to reliable precision grades (typically G100 to G1000), making them perfectly suited for smooth operation in drawer slides, caster wheels, and consumer hardware.
Oil Removal
Oil removal equipment, put the ball into the equipment, after screening, separate the ball from the oil.
Measuring Instrumentation
After the hard grinding, the steel ball will be measured in accuracy, hardness, etc., and the three-needle measuring instrument will be used to check whether the expected effect is achieved.
Cleaning
After screening, the steel ball is cleaned again and then dried.
Sorting
After cleaning, the steel ball will be qualified into the container through the sorting machine, and finally manually test to complete the whole process of steel ball production.
Changzhou Risheng Steel Ball Co., Ltd. is located on the eastern shore of Taihu Lake, adjacent to Shanghai, with convenient transportation. Since its establishment in June 1995, the company has been dedicated to developing and manufacturing steel balls, integrating research and development with trade.
For many years, Risheng building on the foundation of the Wujin Metal Ball Research Institute, has been committed to researching steel ball manufacturing technology. We primarily produce shaft steel balls (AISI 52100), stainless steel balls (AISI 201/304/316/420/440/430), and carbon steel balls (AISI 1015/1045/1085) with diameters ranging from 0.8mm to 25.4mm, with precision grades up to G10, G40, and G100. We also offer custom specifications for alloy steel balls, military steel balls, copper balls, UFO balls, ceramic balls, and other metal balls.
High-strength inner packaging: Shockproof foam bags or custom plastic boxes are used to secure each 201 stainless steel ball in place, protecting it from impacts and scratches.
Moisture-proof protection: A moisture-proofing agent is added to effectively prevent the impact of moisture on the product during transportation.
Sturdy outer packaging: Thickened corrugated cardboard boxes or wooden pallets (for large orders) are used to ensure safe long-distance transportation.
Clear labeling: Product specifications, quantity, and drop warnings are clearly marked on the outer packaging box for easy verification and safe handling.
You can expect sound service from risheng service technicians when and where you need it most. From our application insight to our confidence at the counter, risheng will work to answer your requests with expert care and promptness. We know your better than anyone.

Hardness: ≤ HRC 25-28, providing good toughness but not suitable for high-wear environments.
Corrosion Resistance: Moderate; resistant to atmospheric corrosion, water, and mild chemicals, but lower than 300-series steels. It performs well in dry or indoor conditions but is susceptible to pitting in chloride-rich or acidic environments.
Magnetic Properties: Non-magnetic in annealed form; can be demagnetized for specific uses.
Machinability: Excellent; can be easily machined, welded, drilled, or polished.
Density: Approximately 7.93 g/cm³.
Temperature Resistance: Good ductility in cold environments (tough at low temperatures) but limited to about 800°C maximum service temperature. They are ferro-alloy based and passivated to enhance surface protection.
201 stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-manganese-nickel alloy, often classified as a "nickel-saving" steel due to its lower nickel content compared to grades like 304 or 316. It contains approximately 16-18% chromium, 3.5-5.5% manganese, 1% silicon, 0.15% carbon, and 0.8-1.5% nickel. This composition makes it a cost-effective alternative to higher-nickel grades while maintaining good formability and strength.
