Electroplated Steel Balls

Electroplated Steel Balls(Zinc Plating、Nickel Plating、Silver Plating、Copper Plating) is a type of ball made from stainless steel

Electroplated Steel Balls

Electroplated steel balls are made by electrochemically coating the surface of ordinary steel balls (usually made of carbon steel, mild steel, or stainless steel) with a layer of metal (such as zinc, nickel, gold, silver, or a colored coating). This treatment significantly improves the corrosion resistance, aesthetics, and functionality of the steel balls.

NOT SURE WHICH ELECTROPLATED STEEL BALL RIGHT FOR YOU?

Features of  Electroplated Steel Balls

Galvanized steel balls: The surface is white or bluish-white, low cost and good corrosion resistance, suitable for slingshot steel balls and industrial grinding balls. The zinc layer is soft, has poor wear resistance, and is not resistant to high temperatures or strong acid and alkali environments. The zinc layer is soft, has poor wear resistance, and is not resistant to high temperatures or strong acid and alkali environments.

Nickel-plated steel balls: Silvery-white, mirror-like luster, high hardness, and excellent corrosion resistance make them suitable for precision bearings and valve seals. This process is environmentally friendly but more expensive, making it suitable for harsh environments.

Silver-plated steel balls: Bright silver with a high luster, excellent conductivity, and antibacterial properties, suitable for high-end electronics and medical devices. The silver layer easily sulfides and turns black, and its wear resistance is poor, requiring protection.

Copper-plated steel balls: Reddish copper luster, excellent conductivity, and affordable, are commonly used for decoration and electrical connectors. They easily oxidize to form a patina, but have poor corrosion resistance and are often used as a base coating.

Our Factory

Changzhou Risheng Steel Ball Co., Ltd. is located on the eastern shore of Taihu Lake, adjacent to Shanghai, with convenient transportation. Since its establishment in June 1995, the company has been dedicated to developing and manufacturing steel balls, integrating research and development with trade.

For many years, Risheng building on the foundation of the Wujin Metal Ball Research Institute, has been committed to researching steel ball manufacturing technology. We primarily produce shaft steel balls (AISI 52100), stainless steel balls (AISI 201/304/316/420/440/430), and carbon steel balls (AISI 1015/1045/1085) with diameters ranging from 0.8mm to 25.4mm, with precision grades up to G10, G40, and G100. We also offer custom specifications for alloy steel balls, military steel balls, copper balls, UFO balls, ceramic balls, and other metal balls.

Packaging & Deliver of Electroplated Steel Balls

High-strength inner packaging: Shockproof foam bags or custom plastic boxes are used to secure each Electroplated steel ball in place, protecting it from impacts and scratches.

Moisture-proof protection: A moisture-proofing agent is added to effectively prevent the impact of moisture on the product during transportation.

Sturdy outer packaging: Thickened corrugated cardboard boxes or wooden pallets (for large orders) are used to ensure safe long-distance transportation.

Clear labeling: Product specifications, quantity, and drop warnings are clearly marked on the outer packaging box for easy verification and safe handling.

Quality Certification
FAQ of Copper Plating Steel Ball
  • Q What precision grades are available for lLow Carbon Steel Ball s?

    A
Grade 100: Ultra -precise (±0.0001" deviation), used in semi-precision bearings.

Grade 500–1000: Commercial tolerance (±0.0005–0.001"), common for casters, slides, or toys. Lower grades (500–1000) are typical for cost-sensitive applications.
  • Q Can Low Carbon Steel Balls be Customized?

A Yes, manufacturers offer custom sizes (0.5mm–50.8mm), tolerances, coatings (e.g., nickel for corrosion resistance), and hardening options (case-hardened or soft). They are often chosen for magnetic properties or ductility in toys and magnetic games.
  • Q What are the main applications for Low Carbon Steel Balls?

    A
Bearings and Motion: Drawer slides, casters, roller skates, conveyors, low-precision bearings.

Consumer Products: Bicycle parts, locks, toys, pinball machines, aerosol mixing (plug balls).

Industrial: Vibratory finishing, magnetic sculptures, gravity bars for paper/wood handling. They are unsuitable for high-load, high-speed, or corrosive environments (use high carbon, chrome, or stainless steel instead).
  • Q How are Low Carbon Steel Balls Manufactured?

A Low carbon steel wire (e.g., AISI 1018) is cold-headed into blanks, flashed, and ground. For case-hardened balls, they are heated to ~1700°F in a carbon-rich atmosphere (carburizing) to harden the outer layer (~0.5–1mm deep), then quenched, tempered, ground, and polished. Soft balls skip heat treatment. Final inspection ensures sphericity and tolerance per ABMA standards (e.g., ±0.0001" for Grade 100).
  • Q What are Low Carbon Steel Balls, and what is their composition?

    A

Low carbon steel balls are made from steel alloys with 0.05–0.3% carbon, such as AISI 1010, 1015, or 1018. They primarily consist of iron with trace amounts of manganese, sulfur, and phosphorus, but lack significant alloying elements like chromium. They are typically case-hardened or left soft for specific uses.
