Precision Engineered Stainless Steel Balls for Diverse Industrial Requirements

Our precision stainless steel balls (AISI 420,440C, 304, 316) ,Carbon Steel Balls (AISI 1015 / 1045 / 1085), Beyond our signature 440C stainless steel range Changzhou Risheng Steel Ball Co., Ltd. are OEM/ODM Manufacturer to  provides a comprehensive portfolio of metal ball solutions such as Tungsten Carbide Balls, Ceramic Balls (Si3N4 / ZrO2), Copper & Brass Balls,UFO Balls (Saturn Balls) & Diagonal Steel Balls are Each material is selected and processed to meet specific mechanical properties and industrial standards.

Stainless Steel Balls for Bearings and Automotive Components

Core Material: AISI 52100 / GCr15 Chrome Steel Balls and AISI 440C Stainless Steel Balls.
Main Description: Steel balls for bearings and automotive components require controlled diameter variation, high roundness, stable hardness and a smooth surface. These characteristics help distribute rolling loads, reduce friction and support consistent movement in bearings, linear-motion systems and automotive assemblies.
Technical Specifications:
Precision
Hardness: Consistently maintained at HRC 60-66.
Use Case: radial bearings, thrust bearings, linear guides, ball screws, electric motors, transmission components, steering systems, seat-track mechanisms and other automotive or industrial assemblies.

Stainless Steel Balls for Valves, Pumps and Fluid Control

Core Material: AISI 304/304L, 316/316L, 420 and 440C Stainless Steel Balls
Grade selection:
  • 304 / 304L — water, air, food contact, mild atmospheric exposure. The default whenever there is no chloride and no acid.
  • 316 / 316L — chlorides, seawater, dosing chemicals, pharmaceutical and food processing. The 2–3% molybdenum is the entire difference: it is what resists pitting. If the medium contains chloride, this is the grade.
  • 420 — hardenable, for valve balls that have to resist wear or impact at the seat where corrosion exposure is mild.
  • 440C — HRC 58–62 with corrosion resistance. Precision valve balls and stainless bearing balls.

Steel Balls Use Case:
  • Check valves, hydraulic and pneumatic valves, pressure-relief components, flow meters
  • Dosing pumps, metering pumps and chemical-delivery systems
  • Quick-disconnect couplings and fluid-transfer fittings
  • Lotion pumps, perfume and trigger sprayers, roll-on packaging, aerosol mixing balls
  • Filling machines, sanitary valves and beverage pumps
  • Water-treatment dosing and sampling components

Carbon Steel Balls for Casters, Drawer Slides and Hardware

Core Material: Carbon Steel Balls (AISI 1015 / 1045 / 1085)
Carbon steel balls for casters and drawer slides provide a practical combination of hardness, toughness, wear resistance and cost. They are widely used in general mechanical and hardware applications where stainless-steel corrosion resistance or bearing-grade accuracy is not required.AISI 1015 low-carbon steel balls are commonly case hardened to create a wear-resistant outer surface while retaining a tougher core. AISI 1085 high-carbon steel balls can be through hardened for applications requiring higher overall hardness and wear resistance.
Finish Options: Available in bright-polished, zinc-plated, or oiled finishes for superior rust prevention during storage.

Use Stainless Steel Balls Case:

  • Caster swivel races in furniture, carts, trolleys and material-handling equipment
  • Drawer slides, cabinet rails and furniture hardware
  • Door tracks, locks, detent mechanisms and positioning components
  • Conveyor rollers, ball-transfer units and overhead handling systems
  • Bicycle parts, roller products and general mobility hardware
  • Agricultural and industrial machinery where hardness matters more than finish

Ceramic and Special-Material Balls for Demanding Applications

Core Materials: Alumina Ceramic, Silicon Nitride, Zirconia and Tungsten Carbide Balls
Deep Dive: 99% alumina ceramic balls are produced in our own factory. They are hard, chemically stable, electrically insulating and hold their properties at temperatures where hardened steel does not. They are non-magnetic and roughly half the density of steel, which matters in grinding media and in anything that has to accelerate quickly.
Use Case:
  • Grinding and mixing equipment;
  • High-temperature mechanical assemblies;
  • Chemical-processing components;
  • Electrical-insulation systems;
  • Oil-and-gas valve components;
  • Flow meters and measuring instruments;
  • High-speed spindles;
  • Laboratory and R&D equipment;
  • Wear-resistant positioning components.

Special-Shaped Steel Balls for Polishing and Surface Finishing

Product: UFO Balls, Saturn Balls, Diagonal Steel Balls and Selected Polishing Media

Deep Dive: Special-shaped steel balls for polishing and surface finishing provide additional contact points compared with conventional spherical media. Their geometry helps reach grooves, edges, holes and irregular surfaces during vibratory finishing, centrifugal polishing and deburring.

Use Case:
Jewelry Polishing、Machined Aluminum Components、Hardware and Mechanical Parts、Vibratory and Centrifugal Finishing

How to Choose Steel Balls for Your Application

1. Stainless Steel Balls Function
Confirm whether the ball is used for rolling, sealing, mixing, grinding, polishing, positioning, locking, transferring or weight adjustment.

2. Material Requirements
Select bearing steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, ceramic or another material according to load, corrosion, wear, temperature, electrical and contamination requirements.

3. Diameter and Precision Grade
Provide the nominal diameter in millimeters or inches and the required ISO 3290 grade, dimensional tolerance, sphericity or customer drawing.

4. Operating Environment
Provide the expected load, speed, pressure, temperature, liquid or chemical medium, concentration and exposure duration.

5. Surface and Hardness
Confirm the required hardness, surface roughness, polishing condition, protective oil, plating and visual surface standard.
FAQ of Steel Balls Applications
  • Q Can RISHENG supply custom steel balls?

    A RISHENG can evaluate custom diameters, materials, precision grades, surface conditions and selected special-shaped ball requirements. Production feasibility and minimum order quantity depend on the drawing, material and manufacturing process.
  • Q Are 316L stainless steel balls suitable for saltwater?

    A AISI 316/316L provides better chloride resistance than AISI 304, but it is not automatically suitable for every saltwater or seawater environment. Concentration, temperature, exposure duration and crevice conditions should be evaluated.
  • Q What steel balls are used in casters and drawer slides?

    A Case-hardened low carbon steel balls are widely used in casters and drawer slides because they provide an economical balance of surface hardness, toughness and wear resistance.
  • Q What do ISO 3290 grades G10, G100 and G1000 mean?

    A The grade sets the maximum deviation from spherical form: G10 is 0.25 µm, G100 is 2.5 µm, G1000 is 25 µm. Lower numbers cost more and are worth specifying only where roundness affects noise, friction or sealing. Most hardware runs fine at G100–G1000; precision bearings usually need G10–G40.
  • Q Which steel ball material should I use for valves?

    A For water and mild environments, 304/304L. For chlorides, seawater or dosing chemicals, 316/316L — the molybdenum is what gives it pitting resistance. If the ball also has to resist wear at the seat, use hardened 420 or 440C.
  • Q What are steel balls used for?

    A

    Steel balls are used in bearings, valves, pumps, automotive components, linear guides, casters, drawer slides, conveyors, dispensing systems, grinding equipment and other industrial assemblies.
