Product Description
420C stainless steel balls are manufactured from high-carbon martensitic stainless steel, commonly identified as X46Cr13 / EN 1.4034. After controlled heat treatment, the material can achieve high hardness and wear resistance for mechanical components involving repeated rolling, seating, positioning or locking contact.
Compared with lower-carbon 420 variants, the higher carbon content of 420C improves hardenability. These stainless steel balls are magnetic and can be precision-ground, lapped and polished to meet specified diameter, roundness and surface-finish requirements.

Main Properties of 420C Stainless Steel Balls
Hardenable Martensitic Material
X46Cr13 / EN 1.4034 is a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel that can be hardened and tempered according to the required mechanical properties.
Wear Resistance
After controlled heat treatment, 420C stainless steel balls can provide wear resistance for repeated rolling, seating, positioning and locking contact.
Magnetic Properties
420C stainless steel balls are magnetic. This can support magnetic handling, automatic feeding, sorting and selected mechanical actuation systems.
Polished Functional Surface
Grinding, lapping and polishing are used to control ball diameter, roundness and surface condition. The required surface finish should be defined according to the precision grade, Ra value or customer drawing.
Moderate Corrosion Resistance
420C provides moderate corrosion resistance in compatible environments involving fresh water, steam, air, oil and selected mild industrial media.
Hardened 420C balls can be evaluated for detent assemblies, locking devices, positioning mechanisms and other components involving repeated local contact.
Their wear resistance, magnetic response and polished surface make 420C balls suitable for selected recirculating systems and guide assemblies after confirming the load, precision grade, lubrication and mating material.
420C stainless steel balls may be used in selected pump and flow-control components where hardness and dimensional stability are required.Fluid composition, temperature, sealing structure and corrosion conditions must be confirmed before material selection.
420C balls can be evaluated for seat-adjustment mechanisms, locking assemblies and other automotive mechanical components requiring hardness, dimensional consistency and batch traceability.
RISHENG manufactures custom 420C stainless steel balls according to specified material, diameter, hardness, precision grade, surface finish and inspection requirements.
Final material suitability depends on the load, movement, lubrication, operating temperature, mating component and corrosion environment.

420C stainless steel balls are hardened, magnetic martensitic stainless steel balls commonly specified for applications requiring controlled hardness, wear resistance and a polished surface.
For precise material identification, the intended grade should be confirmed according to X46Cr13 / EN 1.4034 or another specified material standard.
420C is widely used as a commercial designation for the high-carbon 420 stainless steel family. X46Cr13 is the EN short name for material number 1.4034 and provides a clearer chemical-composition definition.
The final material must still be confirmed according to the drawing, purchase specification and Material Test Report.
The hardness depends on chemical composition, ball diameter, heat-treatment condition and testing method.RISHENG confirms the required hardness range and inspection method before production.
Yes. X46Cr13 / 1.4034 is a martensitic stainless steel and is magnetic.
420C stainless steel provides moderate corrosion resistance in compatible mild environments. Its suitability depends on the chemical media, chloride concentration, temperature, exposure time and surface condition.
Custom metric and inch diameters can be reviewed according to the required tolerance, hardness, precision grade, quantity and surface finish.
Manufacturing capability should be confirmed before a formal production commitment is made.
Please provide the material standard, ball diameter, tolerance or precision grade, hardness range, quantity, application, operating environment and required inspection documents.
